Background
In 2008 she founded Olive Co., Ltd. together with Gen Horibe. The company now runs 12 directly operated salons and 10 franchise salons — 22 eyelash and esthetic salons in all — together with a school. Since the beginning the promise has been the same: the newest knowledge and the highest level of technique. Every member of staff goes through demanding training before working with clients.
Under the company's BeHappy! philosophy, the training covers character as much as technique. The ten-year interview, in which each member of staff shares where they want to be a decade from now, the twice-yearly "soul interview", and the orientation for new staff are often observed by business owners from other industries.
She won both the Japanese national contest and the world championship in 2012. Today she sits on the board of the NEA, the Japan Eyelash Extension Association, and focuses on developing and selling eyelash extension products.

What we set out to do at Hollywood Eyelash is to develop products and techniques that genuinely help the owners and technicians who run salons and do the work — and to offer them at a price they can live with.
In the nail industry, gel arrived and replaced nail polish almost overnight. When mobile phones first appeared they were enormously expensive, the size and weight of a shoulder bag. Today everyone carries one, at a price everyone can reach. The same shift is beginning now in eyelash extensions.
To carry this technology across Japan and around the world, we will keep working on both sides of the problem: making it better, and making it affordable.
